In 1998 Mitch Stone had just graduated photography school at Santa Monica College. He was offered to do hair on Actress Kim Basinger for the film, I dreamed of Africa.Stone traveled to the far reaches of Africa carrying along his old 110A Polaroid camera with rodenstock lens. He was also armed with Polaroid positive/negative film and a sodium sulfite tank that he carried through the bush while photographing wild animals and indigenous people. The photographs are stunning and can be printed on large scale linen paper up to be 8 feet X 12 feet wide. They are quite impressive at that size.
